Onward and Upward

It’s been a hard couple of months to say the least. Grief is a complicated animal and then you pile that on to the normal everyday stresses of life and you just have overwhelm. But through it all, Christ has been faithful. We are surrounded by friends and family that have both lifted us up and wept with us. We can’t explain what this means to us! It’s hard to say that life goes on, but it does. July 12th will be hard. That’s my Dad’s birthday. We are going to spread his ashes that day. Please pray for us!

On the flip side, there are so many things to be excited about. The Lord is doing some amazing work here. We are seeing the interest in our church grow. We’ve met several church planters that have encouraged us in what we feel called to do. We continue to see the Lord’s favor in the strangers we meet and talk with. So friends, onward and upward! I’ll leave you with this from 1st Corinthians 16:

5 I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, 6 and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. 8 But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,9 for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

We have found great comfort and great affirmation in these verses. We do believe that Christ has opened a wide door for effective work here! Now we just rely on Him for the timing!
